He would have won gold.

I feel so sorry for him.

elections

The new elections will be at june 9th.

The Queen has decided the government will be demissionary, which means they can't take real decisions except just the daily ones.

It goes against the wishes of the prime minister who wanted to push through his plans.

Won't work mister!

Safety cameras in shops

After two armed robberies in the same small neighbourhood shoppingcentre the owners have decided to buy cameras.

It was on the local TV.

They hope that it will prevent future robberies and when something happens that the people who did it will be caught easier.

Let's hope it won't happen again.

bicycle repair

Heard on the radio about a bicycle repair service that uses a fully equipped bus.
They repair at home.

Sounds very good.

I can repair my own bike, but sometimes I don't have the stuff to do so. Especially not when I'm not at home.

Interesting.

robberies

One of the neighbourhood shoppingcentres was confronted with yet another robbery.
Last thursday one of the shops was target of an individual (as far as we know), and today 3 people robbied the bakery.

A couple tried to make them give up and they were hit by a hammer.
Outside someone parked his car in front of their car, so they had to run away. They lost art of the money.

This is the third robbery in a short time in one of the neighbourhood.
The police states that they're conducted by different people.

Well, I feel very unconfortable when I'm in the shops, even though I'm shopping at another part of town.

The old lady I care for was worried too, and she asked me if it was possible to order groceries and have them delivered at home, like in the old days.

No...

Was it a real gun?

One of the supermarkets nearby was attacked by some stupid man who thought it fit to ask for money.
It's not clear if he got some, but the people present were able to describe him well.

I wonder if it's the same guy who tried to rob one of the other supermarkets.
It was the second time there and the girls told him "no", when he wanted the money.
The owner was robbed before and he was tied to his chair, this time the robber left the shop.

Well, we've informed the parents and told them that they shouldn't allow children to go to the shops until the police is able to tell them otherwise.

Chinese at final exam

Chinese will be a new subject at schools and students can take it at their final exam.

I wonder if many young people will take the subject.
Before Russian and Spanish could be chosen, but not many decided to do so.

Regarding the fact that quite some young people join their parents on vacation to Spain it was expected otherwise.

Don't ask me what to expect from the chinese language at school.

I think it'll be more the choice of the parents than of the children themselves.

weather, soup and cake

It's colder here than in vancouver, so maybe we should have had the olympic games here.

Finaly I got my pair of orange gloves.

And I have a few tins of tomato soup I don't like.
So I've invited friends for dinner. Added a a lot of meatballs.
They loved it.

I also made potatoes, meatloaf and spinach.
Nothing very special, because I wanted to bake a cake.

The smell was through the whole house, making it feel warm and cosy.

Just what I wanted.

disgusting deodorant

I had to go back to university to fetch something.
In the lift someone stood beside me with a very heavy odeur around him.
The smell nearly took my breath and I saw that some people covered their mouth with a handkerchief.

The guy didn't realise what he was causing.
At the next level everyone left and walked to the next lift.
It was like an organised march.

Why do people use that heavy smell?
Do they really feel better than when they use ordinary deodorant?

Do they really thin all girls will come and adore him?

A special day

.

I wish you a very happy day, today.

My day started in the most wonderful way, as you can read on my other blog.

I love special days, but I don't like the way shops almost force us to join in with expensive presents and such.
Especially not, because it's all about money.

It's Carnaval here, but that doesn't bring enough money in the shops, so they've decided to place the eastereggs already on the shelves.

That way special days overlap each other, and it doesn't add the the festive feeling.

Well, we're having a good time anyway.
And you?

elections again

Today the votecard for the municipality elections came in.

I'm not sure which party to vote for at march 3rd.
Up till thise summer the group of parties here was doing very well, but they clashed a few months ago.

Voting now is different from voting for the national elections.
Some people are better here and get more done on a local level than the party ever will on a national level.

I'm afraid many people will vote like they'll vote in the national elections. And that worries me.

One of the rightwing parties is not on the list and I hope votes won't go even more to the right, because that would cause a lot of nonsense discussions in the meetings.

Well, we'll see.

About my other site

Oh, it's friday evening again.
So my new site is offline for a while because the server is making a back up or under maintenance or something like that.
It's ridiculous, I know.

Well, most of you can find me here.

It also means I'm going to keep this blog alive. I was blogging here about school and on the other blog about other things, so I'm OK with that.

Someone asked why I removed the entrecard widget.
I've done that because I thought I would move the complete site to the new place.
I started doing so a while ago.
But this site is my first one and for some strange reason I cling to it.

I must find a better name for it, but for the time being this will do.

That's why I haven't transferred google friends, etc.

So I haven't removed it because of the EC-drama.

----

This morning it was terribly cold with that northern wind again.
At school some children looked so cold that we opened the doors long before the regular time, so they could come in.
Some children were going to the heating to warm their hands and feet, but I've send them all away. Cold extremities should be warmed slowly.
When all the kids were in we did some exercises to get warm and then we changed all plans and we got the kids who wanted to sing to the main hall where I sang songs with them. One of the teachers is pure amazement on the piano. I don't understand why he isn't famous. He played along.
It was fun and brough a good spirit in school.

The other kids were allowed to play or work to their desire as long as they didn't disturb others.

We should do this more often!

Drama on the web

Those who know this blog from entrecard know me a bit.
When you've heard from the drama one of the members created by false accusations you have to go to my new blog.

This one is entrecard free and it will stay that way.

I'm fed up with all the drama on the web.

I've been a member of a group for people who make their own clothes.
It was fun to exchange little tricks to make the clothes nicer, show off what was made etc etc.

Then one day a member accused some others of stealing a pattern. (You know, the paper drawing how the parts of the fabric need to be cut and assembled).
The moderators immediately put those on moderation, thus conveying the message she believed the first woman.

Turned out they all used the same bought pattern.
So in fact the first woman was claimng a pattern to be one of herself whereas it wasn't.

I feel rotten to be slandered and to seen that some other bloggers think the same just because the first one said so.

I feel even more rotten that other members of the autism organisation I volunteer for are accused too.
I wonder if all those sites that are called cheaters are dutch.

Well, it snowed last night and the wind was awful.
But...I had my day off...

What a pity someone thought it well to disturb the day.

it snows a gain.

It was very cold today.
This afternoon I had an appointment with the dentist, but it was cancelled because he was stuck in traffic.
I didn't mind.

In the evening, after visiting a friend, I was surprised by a thick layer of snow.
It took me ages to get home.

Turned out that during the day the electricity switched off, so it was terribly cold here.

Well, with my coat on and a blanket around me I wanted for the heating to work again.
Ofcourse there was plenty of drama on internet to raise the temperature.
See my other blog.

Project part 1

I blogged last saturday about a wonderful site of Bella McBride which inspired me for special lessons.

Today we had the first lesson.

The group consisted of all girls and one boy.
He was added to the group at the last moment, so I had no chance to change plans.

So I just decided to go ahead and have a look at the site and etsy shop.

The girls decided to make a bag, and the boy hesitated. He wanted to make a bag for his mom, but he also liked the mushrooms of velted wool.
He took quite long to make up his mind, but then suddenly one of the girls said she wanted to make a bag and put a velted mushroom on it.

So all kids start with a basic pattern and end up with completely different bags, because they have a free choice of colour.

It's such fun!!

national songcontest

Yesterday was the national songcontest.

An old songwriter wrote a song which was boring and outdated.
Several artists sang it.
During the election two singers got the same amount of points.
And the artost had to chose.

he didn't want to make the choice and after a lot of pressure he kind of waved the choice away, said it was better to toss a coin and then he said rather unkind that the girl was the winner.

I pity the girl.

Internet and self confidence

After I came home today (read here where I went to) I sat down and needed a break.
With just a bit of music, a sandwich with cheese, I started surfing a bit and landed on a very inspiring site.

Because I need to do a project with a group children at school I decided on something that is not directly related to schoolsubjects.
These children, all girsl, all have learning difficulties and they need a boost in self confidence.

Bella McBride has a wonderful blog and it gave me lots of ideas.
I'm sure the girls will love to make something and maybe they'll even get enough inspiration to design something themselves.

Oh, I'm so looking forward to the lessons!!

site of the dentist

My dentist is a nice guy.

He wants to radiate professionalism and he does.
It's nice to know he's critical about the latest gadgets and he enjoys to share his views.

So I wasn't amazed when he told me he would get a complete make over for his website.

It looks nice, but his webdesigner didn't have the critical attitude about the latest internettoys than he does.

There are so many new thingies incorporated in his site, that it's so slow that even the old dentist from my youth moves faster. (I think he's dead..)

I don't think I should be the one to tell him that even with a fast connection the site does take an eternity to load, on the other hand... who does tell him??

Yoga online

A few years ago I followed a course of yoga.
But even though I liked it very much, I couldn't continue the lessons, because they were at a time I was needed elsewhere.

Todat I had some time between two children and decided to look around online a bit.
There I found betwene the missed TV programs a series of yoga lessons.

They were good.
Even though I was not physically participating, I relaxed and when it was time to go back to work I felt refreshed.

Might be a good idea for you too?

New law

A new law has been accepted in which sex with animals is forbidden.
It's a law to protect animals.
Everyone agrees with that.

But some people voiced their concern about the fact that the law speaks out what is decent and what not, which might lead to interference with behaviour which is considered normal under the present law, but which might be considered indecent when other religions are represented in larger numbers in parliament and government.

And others pointed out that indecent actions are used to enable farm animals to get the best young.
So in fact that is forbidden too.

snow and snow and..more!

It was a slippery slide this morning.
And when snow began to cover the streets, I had problems seeing the slippery parts.
I nearly fell against a car, but was lucky to be able to get a grip on the ground with my feet.

The children were less concentrated.
So I helped out a teacher in the classroom.
But when large snowflakes slowly drifted down by the thousands I just did what I wanted to do and invited the kids to do the same: open the curtains and watch!

We told the children that when they were bored they could sit down and read or draw in silence.

After 10 munites everyone was sitting and silent, and when we started they were able to concentrate.
