Oldest sheep has died

In september 2007 the Guinness World Records organisation acknowledged that the 21 year old Lucky was the oldest sheep on earth.

Now she's burried under her favorite tree in Australia after dying at the age of 23,5 years.
She probably died because of the extreme high temperatures that are measured in australia at the moment.

She's got ICT

Neelie Kroes is a highly valued commissioner for competition in the European Union.
She knows how to deal with companies like Microsoft, Intel and Oracle, and how to make them stick to the rules of fair competition.

With the new round of the political dance of the chairs she's got ICT.

To be honest, I'm thrilled about that!

I hope she's going to deal with international copyright issues, with spam and new legislation for internet.

Talking with the Queen

Our Queen used to have regular talks with politicians in the past.
Because the Queen needs to be neutral about the political parties, so she doesn´t influence any elections, it´s almost a holy rule not to talk about these conversations.

In the past someone did and she stopped with these talks immediately.

Today the talks were resumes after years.

And another stupid politicians felt the need to tell the media what they had talked about.

Tonight at 21.00 hours he resigned.

All I can hope is that the Queen keeps talking to politicians.
Maybe she can end their nonsense and can focus them again on important issues.

flu statistics

I don't know about you, but I'm becomeing a bit hesitant to belief all those flu statistics.

According to our local paper 40% more people have called the family physicians last week.

When I take the former weeks into account I get the feeling that by now everybody has called their family doc at least once about the flu.
That's not true!!

People here are not of the complaining type.
They take illness as it comes and only a few really need a doctor.

I wonder whether these figures are part of the campaign to make people take the vaccination too.

Booze in the morning

Many students know how to party and how to let alcohol through their veins.

I'm not much of a drinker. I don't like wine and I don't like the strange mixes some people call exotic.

What amazes me most is that people don't realize that alcohol needs time to leave the system.
Some drink so much that the level of alcohol in their blood is still above the limit in the morning.

I've heard often that the best way to conquer a hangover is to drink a bit of alcohol.
So people are boozing in the morning again!!

Unbelievable!!

chocolate for december? Are the farmers paid enough?

It has been a challenge the past years to find chocolate letters and other chocolate items which taste perfect and cost not much.

This year the priorities in my family and for friends are different.

We don't want the farmers who produce the cocoa beans to receive just a tiny part of the money earned on the product.
The deserve a decent income for working so hard to make us taste the best there is.

So this year we pay more at reliable shops, knowing that the farmers got honest wages.

And you?
